I too apologize for the tone of my reply. My gloating got the best of me... hahaha
Truth is neither red states, blue states, one states, two states, liberals nor conservatives have a monopoly on what's right or best for this country. Politicians are elitist bastards (both sides of the aisle) and us down here in the trenches actually working for a living do their dirty work. There has to be a balance between both liberal and conservative voices or you have chaos. Democrats would lead us into a socialist mess and Republicans would leave us with monopolies and huge class divisions. The best thing we can do as a country is truly come together, make are elected officials accountable for doing their jobs and not just marking time, serving their special interests and drafting excuses.
Write your congressman, get involved with you local political parties, vote, do something. If not, you're just bitching and moaning and you're just part of the problem. Case in point. Michael Powell and his Republican cronies wanted more media consolidation about a year ago. It'd allow fuckers like Clear Channel to have monopolies on venues, radio, newspapers, you name it. I wrote ALL my representatives, people I consider to be on my Republican team and told them they were FLAT fucking wrong on supporting this. A week later my Senator changed his vote and the media ownership rules were not changed in congress. I'm not saying it's the power of one voice, but many can be deafening and drown out all the bullshit.
Satan Bless America,
