Hey guys, I'm new to mixing and have given this a shot. Any tips for maintaining an even vocal level for the entire song? They seem to go up and down like mad, not sure if it's my mix. Everyone else using a ton of automation on the vocals?

Yes, that might explain it, however I still think he should post a sample so we can give him some pointers etc.

On a side note all those factors are working against me except for time. My monitors aren't too bad either, I just really need to get some bass traps up in my room. It's probably why i work on this shit for hours and then throw on somebody else's mix and then cry myself to sleep.

the vocals kicks ass and the riffs are awesome but there is too much compression i think. and the kick could be a little bit stronger,the bass is eating it a lil bit.
