Another 5150 clip...

I had finally some time to record my new half-stack (5150mk1 , mesa boogi rectifier standard 4x12). I recorded with a Gibson Explorer '76 reissiue through a ibanez ts9 808mod. The mics were Sm57 and Sm7...with the sm57 louder for about 5db.
The input was NORMAL GAIN and LEAD channel.

There is one guitar left and one right... and the tracks are raw.

Wow, nice! Sounds to me (through headphones) like you have great tone coming out of the amp but you may need a little improvement on mic position, maybe a 1/2 inch back, get some of the weight out. Cool, though, I dig!!

Yeah... the deal is that the sm7 has a big gril upfront so i rly had some issues with phasing. But i dig the sm7 sound on guitars...in my experience it's something between md421 and sm57!
