I got Underworld, and in the booklet it said something about... "the screams in "from sleep to somewhere else", and "mirror stage" and thanked some guy. Did the singer not do those screams? Who did, and what band is he in?

I was always thinking the Adagio singer just did them, I don't see why they needed that blackmetal guy for those 2 screams.

Because doing black/death vocals is an ENTIRELY seperate skill unto itself. Not anyone can just scream and expect it to sound like that, its like saying that anyone could just throw their voice up into their head voice and expect to sound like Michael Kiske.

he doesnt wanna ruin his great voice with those screams. not that i dont like screams, Kalmah is one of my fav. bands, but its either screams or clean, and he definately has the clean down

Not entirely true...check out Vintersorg from Borknagar or the dude from Opeth. Those guys can do both.

yeah, matts right. Why bring in a dude to do a few screams? That's like asking "Why bring in a professional violinist for the intro of just one song?" well, because it will sound like shit otherwise. and vintersorg (andreas hedlund) and mike from opeth both own your nuts. sorry, i don't make the rules. that's just the way it is.

everyone is saying screams, I know there is a scream near the beginning but when is there another in the song?
There's one at the ending of The Mirror Stage.

I just recently picked up "Underworld" and it's excellent. The screams (which I also thought were done by their singer) definitely add to the song...the one at the beginning of "From my sleep...to someone else" is definitely metal! :hotjump:

those screams are just great, especially the one in Mirror Stage : that transition kick so much ass ! (and not only the voice, but the entire music that litterally switch in "falling in Hell" Mode).
