I just finished mixing my neeeew song :D

I did it as more of a tribute for Dime, as I started playing guitar because of him and I grew up listening to him since I was 5-6, I felt I HAD to!

Still has no vocals though :(

DROPBOX LINKY!! - http://dl.dropbox.com/u/15344936/Song 2 - mastered rough mix.mp3

I'll upload a dropbox link in a few minutes

I used my schecter omen 7 extreme with a blackout, straight into a line 6 GX interface

I used TSE X30 with TSE 808 boosting it and Lecab 2 loading 6 impulses

I used Ampeg for the bass and a shitload of shit for the drums.

Let me know what you think!

not much to add, the snare though, needs to have more variation between the velocites, mainly talking about when its doing the 2 bars of 16th note fill, they're all the same hit and sounds a bit machiney

yeah, i'll probably change them at some point, i'm a lazy bastard though so it won't be for a while :D

Digging this dude.

I'd just bring the OHs down a bit, then you'll have a perfect mix for this style.

Also, I don't think you need a real amp for this.. The guitar tone is beautiful. Who cares if it's an ampsim?

What impulses did you use? I've not gotten x30 to sound quite like that.

I used gregs free ASEM impulse, one of the Engl Sperimental impulses and the Grind guitarhack impulse.

I used Lepous Lecab 2 to load them all like this 0-

i can't post Gregs one though because its gregs to post :D

EDIT -

heres gregs impulse - http://www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/gear-sale/622013-fs-custom-impulses.html

Sounds great mucky but i agree with nick that the OHs could come down a touch and more humanization on the snare. Only listening on comp speakers at home but the guitar sounds sick.

Love that guitar tone dude, props

I can definitely hear the Pantera influence

I personally wasn't that happy with the guitar tone but maybe i was wrong haha, i'll make the changes to the volume levels as well sometime today.
