Hey guys,

Same deal basically as the last ones, so the differences aren't enormous, but I thought I'd post for a bit of fun. :)

I think the bass sits a bit better in this mix and is a little bit less clicky.

I have SO much fun playing this song. I am aware there are lead sections and other things missing but the point of this was to just play with my new amp so I'm not too concerned with finishing it off.

Any pointers or feedback is appreciated guys. :)

Didn't quite play it right there Dylan ;) Close though, and the drums sound great! (though that cymbal, I guess it's a crash or maybe hi-hat, that's keeping the beat during the verse is so freakin' cheesy sounding, definitely either lower it in volume to make it less obvious or just swap it with another!) As for the guitar tone, not bad, but undergained IMO and a bit nasally. Bass sits better, but still too clicky IMO; coming along though!

Thanks guys.

I know I played it a bit differently...I learned it really quickly and changed some bits to make things easier, and I transposed some bits a bit because playing in on a 7 made things different.

My buddy has my boost pedal so I couldn't use it, but I'm keen to get it back off him. :)

I think my mixes are coming along nicely but there is still a long way to go. Look out for some miced clips of my 6505+ and my buddy's new (used) 2 channel recto today, as I'm going to his house to record some stuff. :)

Yeh it's Addictive Drums.
I'll crank the gain more next time. I really like the slappy sound of having the undergained tone though when playing big riffs you can really dig into on the Bb string, but I guess I can compensate with some more presence and high end to maintain that attack under more gain. :)

I like the raw crunch :) I'm sure you can find a nice compromise tho.
The only thing I don't like is the bass. Some parts have that slappy/farty kinda attack at points. Especially in the opening riff during the unmuted parts. Maybe you can experiment with different compression and eq settings.
Nice work.

edit: I'd prolly also add a little more reverb on the snare. :)

Sure thing man!

Hope it is of some use.

My friend and I recorded our amps miced up today. It was the first time I'd miced my 6505+ and the first time I'd miced my friends dual Recto (through a black shadow loaded cab too btw) so they didn't turn out that great, as we didn't have a whole lot of time for experimentation, but I think they sound decent enough to post here, which I might do later tonight or tomorrow.

:)
