i like Karnivool much better than TBE :( Themata may just be the best melodic hard rock album since ... well a long fucking time anyway.

Actually Karnivool impressed me no end with Themata. That was one fucking great album. Saw them live 3 times in Melbourne too. Very good live show. Looking forward to another release, whenever that'll happen.

To be perfectly honest just take the ones with the nicest covers since it was nowhere stated that you'd have a cd player on this island

These are just personal favorites.

-Pink Floyd's Animals, The Wall, Meddle, Dark Side of the Moon, and Wish You Were Here <- IMHO, Pink Floyd is the greatest rock band, ever, bar none.

-Dream Theater's Train of Thought, Scenes from a Memory, Awake, Images and Words, Octavarium, and Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence <- incredible mix of technical insanity, pure, crunching heavy metal, soaring epics, a few mellow tunes... some of the most beautiful music ever recorded.

-Opeth's Blackwater Park, Damnation, Deliverance, and Ghost Reveries. The reasons here are pretty obvious...

-Dragonforce's Sonic Firestorm and Inhuman Rampage <- What "Fun" would sound like in musical form.

-Iron Maiden's Number of the Beast and Brave New World (I'm kinda a sucker for the synths I guess... and the classic Run to the Hills riff gets me every single time)

-Led Zeppelin's IV and Led Zeppelin II (Rock and Roll, Black Dog, Battle of Evermore, Livin' Lovin' Made, Ramble On, What Is And What Should Never Be... man, practically every song is awesome)

-Porcupine Tree's In Absentia, Deadwing, and Stupid Dream, because Steve Wilson is a mad genius.
