Anthrax Real Video doing Only

Sound quality is crap, but from what I can hear he actually doesn't sound bad singing it. Still gonna have a hard time adjusting to not hearing John though. Can't wait for a better recording to surface. Thanks Buddy for posting.

At first i thought it was okay, but after about two minutes you can definitely hear him struggling, desperately trying to give his voice some edge, only getting out some squealing. I really thought this song could work with Joey, but it was just horrible.

I'll preface my opinion with acknowledging that I'm more of a John guy (been a fan since ATL and a superfan since SOWN), but I think he did a decent job. More importantly, though, the man did his best to respect the song (singing lower than he normally does and even throwing in John's "keep it up" at the beginning). I don't think we can ask for any more than that. Does anyone know if he did any other Bush era material?

An Anthrax classic ruined.....oh, okay, it's not THAT bad. Sure ain't great though. Joey should stick with his era, and whatever new stuff they right. Sounds weird. Sounds like a poodle trying to be a pitbull.

I really want the Joey reunion to work this time round but I'm afraid that was awful. The Bush era tunes should be retired until the day when John returns (if that ever happens). There's plenty of great tracks from POT and SOE that never got played during the last Joey reunion that should be dusted off rather than playing Bush-era tunes that most Joey-era fans don't want to hear regardless of who's singing them.

Did any new stuff get played?

As much as a lot of their fanbase wants that, I wouldn't hold my breath. John, I think, wants to get away from touring. So now, we are left with a decrepit band, with no clue on how to be a team with their singer. If Joey lasts a year I will be surprised.....and will be more surprised if John ever comes back to Anthrax. He was dissed in '05, and I think he is done. He did them a favor (and got a paycheck) after the Nelson fiasco, bit I think he knew the band is toast.

I think he does decent job on this one...but ONLY is perhaps one of the easiest Bush era songs to sing...now give us What Doesn't Die! ...or something aggressive!

T:)

Finally, the sung was sung CORRECTLY in a live setting. No more wimpin' out on the high notes. Glory be to Joey!

Instead wimpin' out the low notes. I don't think that's correct either ;) I think it could have been great if he had not tried to sing it as low as John. In the beginning he is singing higher and it sounds really good, but then he tries to be John Bush and completely butchers the song. No idea what you think was so great about that... i guess Joey could sing out of his ass and you'd still love it.

I think he did a good job considering its not his song. His version will always be compared to the original (just like GOTE was). And yes sound quality was crap

I thought he did pretty good for only learning the song a few days/weeks ago, and this being one of the first times he sang it live. For the first time, I give him props. However, let's hear how he sings it after 50 shows or so. If he nails it better, great! If not, then...

Joey sounds like he's got marbles in his mouth. He's clearly not feeling the song. Cant wait to hear Inside Out or What Doesn't Die....NOT !!!
Heaven help us!!!! I had to get drunk to watch him massacre "Only". They should let him play his era stuff and whatever new stuff they put out. This is sacriledge. Have a Blatz, you'll feel better.
