Anti War protests

Just wondering if any of you have been in them. Iv'e been in three big ones now and the one yesterday wasn't much different apart from the cops suddenly going psycopathic for no reason.Scared the shit out of me when you see 20 riot cops running at you.
Any experiences?

Call me heartless to the anti-war protest crowd but you have to figure that as a cop seeing 50-100 people on the sidewalk holding signs that AREN'T dressed up as lobsters and ARENT promoting some seafood restaurant is a problem.

...it's just the fact that many of them are -trying- to hold up traffic and -trying- to cause a disturbance. Here in America we have rights to free speech and peaceful protest. Not verbal abuse and disturbing the peace...which is where alot of OUR anti-war protest-arrests come from.

Which is exactly what we were. PEACEFUL. Why do you think i was so pissed off with the cops? BECAUse they were trying to provoke shit.
And there is nothing wrong with being a hippy.
Grow you hair, smoke dope and take LSD like a man boyo.

Eh, perhaps I come from a more iron-fist background that you do. I have cops in the family, military, etc. I don't like war any better than the next person but I have issues with protests. Protests are, effectively, a pain in the ass. From a cop's standpoint there's a certain amount of bullshit that protesting causes.

1. Protesters want to be heard and in alot of cases -want- to be arrested during protest for dramatic factor.

2. People will "meander" up to protestors to disagree...resulting alot of times in fights.

3. Certain groups of protestors are actually trying to block traffic, verbally abuse pro-troop protesters...etc.

Sure, there are some asshole cops but in alot of cases it's a cop's bullshit meter going off that usually ends up in some nasty incidents. It's just that sometimes as the over-sensetive civillians we are, we assume that we're immune to it. We're not, but at the same time we assume that since we're not the one walking around with the gun that we're entitled to cause more trouble than a cop without ramification.

nice dude. i feel the same way

Belive it or not cops aren't supposed to go beserk regardless of what protesters are doing.
They are at most supposed to use "Reasonable force" which they didn't. That's why im pissed off. They went apeshit with no provocation. And when i say it was a peaceful protest thats what it fucking well was. No hassle given by either side for the most part then a couple of fucked incidents.

Quote-before you drop that tab, make sure you have some good friends with you along for the voyage. and good music.-end quote lizard... Definitely the first time. otherwise you'd probably never do it again. Turn on tune in and drop out.......
