Any love for Nectar?

Absolutley, great song, great album, Would love to see some more MR on their set lists considering their coming to Australia soon.

Should definitely be in the setlist.

Such a crushing song, totally underrated, and Per would do wonders with the mellow bits, especially the bit towards the end (6:20-8:00).

The section of which you speak is one if my fav acoustic opeth parts, but really, im i the only one that thinks too much of a good thing is a bad thing?
Per's stuff is good but too much saturation of keys can be annoying as well as simply not required for certain songs, in not a fan of keys in the heavy parts of deliverance for example, but granted he did have some nice touches on the R tapes, but not on every trak ffs

Aye, 6.20 to the end of the song is musical genius
The acoustic - electric tradeoff is so beautiful and contemplative,
... all the way down to the explosive riff, aggression and intensity slays nearly every other song,
And the arpeggio bass solo, love that sound...

Beautiful harmony at 2.13 as well.

Damn I love Morningrise.
Would like to see what Per can do though, The Night and the Silent Water was brilliantly done, especially the ending.

Hear, hear!

It's probably my most neglected song off Morningrise, which is weird because every time I listen to it, I go 'ZOMG this is fucking fantastic'.

Nice song. One of the three best on the album (after TNATSW and Advent). Bass lines are awesome - moment at [3:06-3:19] owns everything! And the intro, and the outro... awesome song, one of my favourite from Opeth's early albums.

agree,
+1

Listened to this one yesterday. I don't particularly like the first few minutes of it but there are some nice bits later on. On the whole I don't find it very memorable though.

Is this liquidcow off the Akercocke forum?

But yeh, Nectar is a fucking wank song. 2 riffs in it that are good, the rest is bland or crap. Definitely in my top 10 least favourite opeth songs..
