Don't know if this will make me popular around here, but Green Day has come a long way toward being a good band. "American Idiot" is pretty damned good.

agreed

but Green Day are no longer a punk band... hints of punk are still showing but overall I feel a stronger Who/Kinks influence in their more classic rock approach... anyway, it's good to see mainstream bands trying something else than licking the asses of overweight american teenagers !!! :loco:

I'm suprised JD hasnt mentioned these guys yet:
Pro-Pain
great metal/hardcore crossover, their songs where they dont rap are killer

I'm Surprised too!! :loco: Fuck! I have been Listening to Pro-Pain - Prophets of Doom ALOT lately ... the more I hear it the more I get pissed at the goverment hahaha Great album and definately in my top 5 for the year!!!! ... there is only one really really rappy Pro-Pain song which is Pound for Pound which is a GREAT fucking song ... Pro-Pain are as Real Life as a Metal Band gets and as Metal as a Hardcore Band can get!!! they never bow down to comercialism they do experiment with their sound but the lyrics are always crucially serious! .... Albums to Run right out and get are "Foul Taste of Freedom", "The Truth Hurts", "Pro-Pain", "Act of God" and "Prophets of Doom" ... this is not Metalcore this is Heavy Metal/Hardcore crossover in its most Mature form I absolutely Love Pro-Pain they are my voice of discontent with some of the policies of this country :D

The Crumbsuckers at Least "B.O.M.B" was not that far away from Pro-Pains style particularly on the "Foul Taste of Freedom" album ... They are a very cool band! but I am glad they morphed into Pro-Pain

.....EDIT: though now that I think of it ..... Pro-Pain is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to metal to be here
