I have just recently re-discovered the brilliant Projector cd, and I have all the others up to Haven (which I also like a lot). How does the new one measure up? I think they have progressed/grown well with each release. I'm thinking of buying the new one soon. Is it worth it? Thanks.

The new DT fucking rules (love this band  ). Think of a kindof cross between Haven and The Minds I. It's got the heavy up-tempo vibe of TMI, with the catchy melodic approach of Haven (well, they've always been melodic, it's just they don't have the same insane dual guitar approach as on TMI). That's not to say it's a follow-on from Haven, because it's defiantely a case of going back towards their roots, but hopefully you find this all confusing enough to rush out and buy it :p

I've put in three listens and I'm very disapointed with it! I can't understand the lyrics with this newer style of singing and I was under the impression they were going to infuse some of the Gallery/Minds I attitude in the song writing which I didn't notice.

I think you would be MUCH better off getting the new Vintersorg.

I think it's a great album.

It does sound like something between Haven and The Mind's I, but it has some new things too. Like the strange rhythm (is that the right word?) in the beginning of Format C: for Cortex for example...

I think it's very original and certainly an improvement over Haven (not that Haven was bad).

I find myself listening to Haven and Projector a lot more than The Mind's I and The Gallery. My favorite DT cd right now is Projector. I do like everything they've released so I will definitely buy the new one, after they get the manufacturing defect thing worked out. I have never heard any Vintersorg, although his work with Borknagar was ok (I liked Quintessence a lot more).

I downloaded the album yesterday. I've only listened to it a few times but it seems very nice. I'm going to give it a few more spins first, but it will most likely be added to my To Buy™ list.
