Any singers want to help me out with a Nevermore cover?

Yeah same here, get the old EVH/Roadster treatment! Interested to hear the tones other people get as its the first time ive done DI's so id expect some different tones to Ola and Jeffs awesome right hands!

Im going to try the pitch shift now, might work!

Damn Shred!!! Never listened to your solo project. So freakin awesome. Im so on if you are about to get a band together. It is cheap to fly to UK nowdays from Sweden so the distance shouldn't be a problem ;)

Oh well problem solved, I tuned the DI's down and it sounds fine to my ears! I guess it should be decent as its the DI's being tuned down rather than an already distorted guitar which might sound a little iffy. Thanks for the suggestion Christian! :worship:

And thanks for checking out TBS! Haha hell yeah, one day I do want to take it live and ive started writing for a full length album so if I can get the rest of the musicians then it might happen!

Ive added the tuned down version to the OP, let me know if it sounds ok.

Btw GH, I used the Schecter Loomis FR -> Redeye DI. Strings were a fresh pack of 10-59 D'Addario's...though half fresh when I start the extra 2 rhythm tracks haha

Sounding fucking sick man \m/ What impulse did you use for the rough version as well? sounds pretty good fucking great for a rough version :D

I used that beta impulse Greg posted in his custom impulse thread. Really looking forward to getting the rest down and getting it fully sorted!

Cheers dude!

Its still fine reamping material though isnt it?

Of course it is - it's just a little jarring to hear a song you've heard a million times, played in a different key.

I saw your pre-edited response, btw.

The clip at the top is just X30 amp sim btw if your referring to that? Just what I use to monitor before I give it the real amp treatment :Shedevil:

Me too.

TSE X30 is the best ampsim ever done. I usually use LeCab with GuitarHack V.2 + Catharsis impulses.

With this plugin I passed first round of 2 different Tone contests.
And if the reamped track still sounds a bit weak, some little db's of TSE X30 and it improves a lot.

Coming back to the topic, great cover James!

Yeah I agree, I think it is the best amp sim ive used. I always like the tone it produces but as with all amp sims I find it never quite sits in the mix, its always "ontop of the track" as is whats happening with this rough mix now. But its definitely a good way to see how things will pan out before being reamped :kickass:

Sounding pretty good so far felix! The only thing I would say, is that during the "how did it come to this" chorus/pre chorus?? section, I would sing it a bit lower, but thats just me, it sounds awesome as it is :D

Okay I started singing today. I can say it was hell of fun to sing along this backingtrack!!! :)

Here´s the first verse and the bridge (or pre chorus?) Tell me what you think, fellas. More clips will follow.

Cheers!

That was pretty cool Felix.
The performance is great. You made some interesting changes to the melody. The verse is nice but I prefer the original melody on the bridge.
