But somehow for that section he's 'on' the click.. he gets off a few times, then gets back on.. Uuuuggh this is editing hell

you should take samples from his kit, hihat, kick, snare, and program this part manually, easiest way i think

Yep. You're fucked mate. Unless you copy some kick and snare hits and manually place them where they should be, there should be no problem with your overheads judging how everyone mixes modern metal today

Why are there 2 identical kick tracks? They null when you flip one of their polarities.
