Snare: Level out snare hits. Inconsistent hitter. (Real Drums)

If you're using Trigger just remove all the dynamics by changing the velocities range !! 90-127, do the same for the dynamics knob, be careful with this knob (it levels all the hits to be almost the same volume when maxed), don't touch so much the velocity knob

All the guys complaining I guess never played drums.
I was one of those bashing drummers myself, but nowadays after tracking a lot of guys behind the kit, I understood that drums is an instrument about power, guitar is not....
so all people whining about drummers not hitting hard, just prove yourself that you can bang on drums for a 1 hour show without being tired... for sure you'll fail miserably

Damn. Can't get the demo to work. Seemed to install ok but the vst won't load. Anyone else have this problem?

Maybe try installing the VST 2.x instead of VST 3.0 or vice-versa depending on which you have installed currently. For the record, I use their free bundle... a lot, and never had any problems. Good luck!

+1.

to my ears most drums have a "perfect dynamics" spot, where they sound the best and can be recorded the best. (varying on the style of music though)

a lot of drummers i know (especially in the hardcore genre) hit too hard. they choke the snare drum by playing into it and not letting the stick bounce etc. i would say usually 80% the volume before a drum shell gives up and does not get any louder but just deader/more chocked, seems to be the ideal volume to record it. just my personal experience though

Weird, a few times I've consolidated guitar DIs that were edited (sounded fine played back in real time) and then after consolidation there were all these pops and clicks.

When you edit, Pro tools will play a fade for you at each edit point, but if you consolidate, those fades will disappear and you will hear your clicks and pops. After you finish editing an audio track, hi-light the entire track and press Apple+F to bring up the fades menu. Choose your fade and apply it. Double check that it was long/short enough and when its right, consolidate the track. Now it will consolidate with the fades and there will be no clicks and pops unless you did a bad edit. From what I remember at least. I always hi-light and fade before I consolidate and there are never any problems.
