Anyone got Thresholds new album?

It's called Subsurface. And let me tell you, if you like progressive metal- this kicks ass! They're from the UK too which is cool [for a UKer like me anyway]. In my opinion, after watching their live DVD Critical Energy and buying their last 2 albums, I can safely say I think they're right up there with the best of 'em, especially in terms of songwriting. Damn the 3rd songs AMAZING!

I like all the MP3's I've heard, but I have yet to find any of their albums or videos in the local stores. I will definitely grab them up when I see them though.

So far, I only have "Mission Profile", but considering the massive amount of ass-kickage that one delivers, I'm gonna have to buy the album really soon... maybe tomorrow resp. today (it's already Friday here). Threshold have never disappointed me... I absolutely love "Hypothetical" and "Critical Mass" and have a feeling that "Subsurface" (GREAT title by the way... just like the cover artwork!) might top both of them. Threshold = best British band today!

Yes! I trekked to Times Square the other day to get my copy and it was well worth the money. I listened to it on the way home. And I'm listening to it now.

This album is one of the best albums ever!! As quite a big Threshold fan I can say that this is the perfect CD for the group to capture new fans as it has all the elements of a great Thresh album, (and any progressive metal album for that matter!!)

Recieved it yesterday, also recieved Power Quest - Neverworld the day before. Karl Groom and Richard West produced it and I think they even did some solos. So getting Subsurface the next day felt kind of funny.

I have to say that 'The Art of Reason' is THE best song they have ever fucking recorded! Hell yeah says I!!

Okay, that was a little harsh... it's not like they're the very definition of crap, but I received a promotion sample of their album a couple of months ago, and it's neither something new nor something old, but good. Happy Happy Uptempo Metal™ songs we've heard a zillion times, epics that suffer from the band overestimating their abilities... what really put me off though were the comparisons made to Royal Hunt in the flyer. Classical hard rock songs with kitschy synths =/= Royal Hunt!

i bought Subsurface the day it came out and i love it. it took about 3 or 4 listens to really hit me but after that its just amazing. alot of powerful choruses and catchy hooks. i think these guys are great songwriters. anyways i highly reccomend the new album.

Well I'm glad theres some big Threshold fans here, I've certainly been very impressed. And to think I never knew they existed until I felt the urge to check out some other bands from those InsideOut slips that come with their releases [like Symphony X CD's]. They have all you need, a great singer, heavy riffs, lots of progression and lots of ability.

I just got back from England and the album was quite expensive over there so that's why I'm gettin' it tommorow over here back in the old Holland.
is there also Anyone over here that bought the critical Energy DVD ?
You should check it out at least once , you should ignore Mac a bit though , considering you can quite well see some overdubs were done on the vocals......

But Especially the live renditions of Sanity's End , Light and Space and the progpower version of Ravages of Time are quite amazing

Threshold's new album is really impressive... It might even be my favorite of theirs... They really took the vocal arrangements to the next level... and Richard's keyboard textures are sublime.
