Anyone know anything about shitty Gateways and Vista?

I have a Creative Audigy 4. It's a little outdated but it definitely gets the job done. I put the money into different things like upgrading graphics cards, PSUs and running tri-screen configurations.

I have totally overhauled my XP though; it doesn't really look like XP at first glance. I'm a graphics snob so a killer UI always catches my attention and Aero does just that.

Stay with what you have if it works well for you. No need to pull hair over experimentation.

You could try one of the various Linux Liveboot CDs if you're that bored. Doesn't change your system.

MUAHAHAHAAAAAAA

So far, it runs fine. I'm installing network drivers for it now. IN A VM! I love doing this shit.

I have a DX series desktop that gets to the Vista Welcome screen and does it's loading thing and never stops.

Any ideas?

No matter what o/s i am useing i always start off by opening msconfig, choosing selective startup, then unchecking all startup items. This does not mess with any of your programs it just makes it so that they are not running in the background at all times eating up precious memory. This may not help you till you get booted but i would suggest this to everyone who wants there machine to kiss ass all the time. So for vista users click start. Then type msconfig in your start search bar.Click the selective startup option and deselect everything, click on apply and then reboot. You will not be sorry and you should check every week or two and deselect any items that have reloaded.your machine will boot twice as fast and un bette overall. And if for some crazy reason your not happy with the results just go back and turn all the memoy eating programs back on.....Later............
