Dimmu has allways been better than COF. But they're both pretty cheesy as far as black metal goes. Dimmu sounds more like a cross between power metal and thrash metal these days. And I've never been into that pussy goth shit that COF are all about.

Sounds awesome, bigger drum sounds than the previous albums.
I was worried they were guna go really 'true' on this album as deathcult was a bit less speedy and riffy as puritanical - even though i still bum it. But yeh good shit.

not sure why anyones dissing hellhammer either, as far as Im concerned hes always been great
As usual Dimmu have about the LOUDEST production going around, a bit softer than puritanic but not by much

The whole album is excellent. I was impressed with Hellhammer's appearance on the album, as he didn't abuse the blast beats as I felt Barker tended to...was a little more musical at times. The songwriting is impressive, the orchestration isn't cheesy, and at times it seems they added a little bit of a Mayhem vibe to thier sound (chord useage, I guess).

Hellhammer does not overedit his drumming as far as i know(im a member of his drumming forum) check out the new mayhem song, there is no drum editing on that whatsoever. Give credit where credit is due because this guy kicks ass.
