I was a bit skeptical when I saw his basement, but overall its a great tutorial, pretty thorough.
I don't approve of his choice of eyeglasses however.

Pretty useful when the samples part finally arrives to actually demonstrate what different mic positions sound like. Should have worked the dustcap area more than the cone though.

The Video is very long, but I think it's helpful and I think it's great that somebody does stuff like that and invests time in it to show people how to do things.
Collin is a really friendly nice guy and I really like the sound from the new age of chaos, different than most death metal recordings, but I really like it.


But yeah, the eyeglasses aren't the best imho

does anyone here use BBE Sonic Maximizer? I have a 4 space rack with Furman PL-8 Conditioner, Korg Toneworks tuner, ART 31-band EQ, and BBE 462.

The BBE is almost always in use, but I bypass the EQ always.

I do like it for live applications, but it does add a bit much on the treble side of things......
