Hi there,

No money, just if anyone wants to practise on it for fun, do something good and get recognition in greek rock/punk scene.
The whole project will be about 12 songs as far as I know.
Drums are midi, same goes for pianos and stuff. Guitars, bass, vocals are real.
Guitars and bass are di, it is preferable to reamp them, use your plugins sound and stuff.. same goes for drums since is midi..
Also tug is not a big fan of loudness squashed mixes.. so let it breath a little.
:)

2 songs download sessions (folder describes tempo and stuff)

2 songs (temporary mix/master by TUG himself..)

Man, when you have to do a guitar dub...just get the guitar and do it, you won't get good results by duplicating track.

hey dude ill give it a listen is this a sounds u would want to achieve ?

if it is ide be more than happy to do it !

This sound fine but I'd prefer it a little darker, I loved the sound of Useless Id latest cd, rise against latest and my favorite band of all BIFFY CLYRO. So you get the idea, I would love fat snare..

Now is tug writing by the way.

Who the heck is Tug?

Tug is me, 29 years old, playing diy music melodic alternative punk something since 16 years old. Been in bands like reality bites, parkinsons. Released several demos through the years and some cd's, given over 5.000 copies. I do it all my self in diy mode that's why I need the help.

My goal is not to have two guitars, my goal is to have one guitar but just played through two amps/cabinets one left one right, same way I used to do my rehersals and my live shows with the bands.. that's all. I dont want a two guitar one man band.
:)

Can't wait to hear your efforts..

Tug again..

Am I attacked or I just feel this way? anyway, u know better.

Some bands with one guitarist, one bass player and one drummer do the following. They just play the guitar or pass it through two cabinets with different sound, one take, gives fuller sounds.

Now there is the other side that says "what??!! No 15 different guitars and takes???

Well yeap. One guitar, live feeling, what the "...." will be on the cd I want it to be on the live shows also. As simple as that.

Personal opinions are fine but no need to attack and hold your tongues. If you need so much to speak about my perspective feel free.
Trash me out. No prob. if it makes you feel good no prob.

Wherever there is a second melody solo I play it with an extra guitar take (that makes me at these points of the songs a two guitar player), this counts as a second guitar so I might make it to guitar heaven.
:)

Most would take one guitar and pan it 100% left ala Van Halen or Extreme, but for a punk band? :goggly:

You don't want two guitars on a one-man band's record, you want the album have the same principles as the live shows, and you have MIDI drums, pianos "and stuff?" Maybe I'm getting something terribly wrong here, but this seems pretty hilarious to me.

Oh..i feel this will go on for days. It is obvious that in live shows there is a band playing with me and not my cubase/protools whatever. So I am winning 2-0 by now guys. Is this going to be continued? I'd better answer your next questions.

- If you have guys to help you with a live show then why you use midi and come here for help?
- Because I want to make it in my room and because live shows are just a possibility where some friends could help when it is the time, not serving me and playing what I write like avril lavigne puppets..
Because I prefer the power of making it in a programm, because I cant afford a piano, violin, cello but it is fine when I play it in my EMU 49. It's me playing after all. Other than that I am an amateur diy musician trying to co-operate, find some help in my mixes and there are some people trying to prove I am stupid and low iq guy who really needs to be ridiculus in this known forum. Well done. to finish the stupid questions and bashing you make, I will be clear.
I am bad at mixing my songs. I love midi. I love playing pianos. I love playing everything in midi. I play guitars/bass. I sing. I write. I LOVE USING ONE SIMPLE GUITAR PASSED THROUGH DIFFERENT CABINETS/AMPS and an extra guitar for solo/melodies.
Now if it is ok with you guys and feel you are able to accept my perspective on this perfect musical world (way too perfect for me to exist obviously) feel free to take a walk in the forum in topics that might actually interest you rather than destroying something I opened and I am waiting replies for.
Peace.

Hey hi there scotland! BIFFY CLYRO, best band.. Yeah I know what you mean, but I dont play punk in my self project, I have many songs mid tempo or guitar cello voice only. And I dont pan one guitar left. I pan one guitar through for example line 6 left and the same take with duplication through a different set (mesaboooooogie lets say) and panned right. This is actually two different sounds left and right balanced but one guitar take. That's what's all the fuzz about.
:Smug:

But the thing is, even if you have different sounds on each side, one take is still not going to sound nearly as separated as two separate takes, one for each side (and if you play the same thing for each one, it's not like you'll be misrepresenting yourself as a one-guitarist band, it'll just make it sound better - tons upon tons of one-guitarist bands do this)

Of course you are free to make music in any way you feel comfortable with, drop the martyr attitude. But to be fair, if you pop up here as a pretty new member asking someone to mix 12 songs for you for free, you can expect at least some amused comments. Especially since you're so set on the ways you like to do things and not taking justified advice.

Anyway, I'm not here to bash your personal preferences or anything. Good luck with the project.

Thanks for the clear answer. Yes I know what you mean, all I wanted to say from the start is that I want it to feel like a one guitar song. You are right that with different takes and playing the same thing it will sound a lot better. I have done this with my previous bands on the recordings and it gave more punch and space feeling. I just don't do it on my own project, I am used to working on this style with one take, I might try it, I know it will sound better for sure.. I just don't want to focus on changes now, wanna try it this way. Maybe in the near future I will make extra takes.. One great technique I know is 3 takes, 3 impulses, one panned left, one panned right and one low in the center to help the presence..
Anyway, thanks for the advice, might try it soon but for now I would like anyone who wants to try the mixing with this take.
