Anyone tried Ashdown Fallen Angel 60 head?

I'm looking at getting the head now, at less than £300 it might just be a usefull addition to my studio rig.

Vader use ashdown heads i think, check the sound "The Beast," its an ashdown mixed a mesa i think.

Live last night at the Pound they had 5150 and JSX heads.

1. I don't think it's that bad - the amp would stand up to gigging fine if you are careful imo.

Okay, then it may be my next amp.

I agree that it might be more difficult that no one has worked with them, because I doubt they're the same internally as most amps.

I've just seen that Ashdown offers schematics for download, for technicians...
I'm just not sure if that applies to "freelancers", such as my friend who services my Marshall or whatever...

2. Not tried with celestions - I'm guesing that they would sound better... but I'm also guessing that the 'custom' speakers are specialy designed to be better with the bass that that thing pumps out! so, if you get a chance I would try it with both. The 'Closed back' Ashdown cab has 'hot' Celestion speakers - I think this has seven stringers and super-downtune-ers in mind.

I'm no 7-stringer or downtuner, I play tuned to E, so it would be the same for me, I guess... That said, my G12H's are said to have an extended bass response when compared to the most of Celestion line, so I reckon they would pump out that extra bass out...
