Did you see the bit when he went to the Magic Johnson theater and asked all the black people which films they saw. Nobody watched Million Dollar Baby or The Aviator, but they all loved White Chicks. One dude even said the best film ever was Chronicles of Riddick.

Yeah, then Albert Brooks comes out and says he saw all the great movies last year but White Chicks was the best.

Yeah, Santana played the same lick 30 times in one song last night. It's a horrific state of affairs when Antonio Banderas out performs some old fucker who once played at Woodstock and essentially made a career out of one song about a black magic woman of sorts.

Re: Chris Rock - was anyone expecting him to do a stand up routine from one of his own shows? I mean, this was hardly going to be "Bigger & Blacker part 2" (which is the greatest standup show of the last 10 years).

Plus, I'd rather have Chris Rock than Steve Martin, Ellen DeGeneres, or Billy Crystal.

I hate the Oscars for some reason. I always picture every person in the "Academy" (whoever/whatever the FUCK that is) to be EXACTLY like James Lipton, ALL OF THEM.

Just in case anyone is under the delusion that it's anything but a meaningless popularity contest, I met one member of the Academy. Here's about how it went:
