ARCH ENEMY Live Apocalypse DVD

Fucking August 8th release date!

FUCK!

Anyone feel like buying a second copy to sell to an impatient bastard in the States so it doesn't take another two weeks to come in?

Jeff

Watching right now. There's a lot of digital clipping so far (3rd song)

Now it's REALLY bad in the intro of Dead Bury Their Dead, when the first guitar riff is played by Chris.

Same thing pretty much whenever one guitar is being played (and nothing else), horrible rice crispies :ill:

I just saw it and the first thing that strikes me is that it doesnt sound live at all, if that was the purpose with the DVD I think they've failed... Seems more like a best of / flashy live video collection in my opinion...

Call me old fashioned but I think a live dvd really should sound live

I preorded mine 2 days ago, and to my surprise it showed up in the mail today!!! The DVD is great, performance is awesome, tone is great, pretty decent song selection, although I'd rather see them play more old stuff. The Fields of Desolation/Outro thing is fucking badass.

I agree they should have played more songs from the first three albums

Listening to Angela speaking is very hilarious!!!

Don't get me wrong, my english may give many mother tongue natives a good laugh but...

-"I like COCAINE...." ...waitaminnit... ....oh! COOKING!

The fact that she likes 'Deaf metal' (for the hearing impaired folks) and Fresh Metal (a MUST in these hot summer days) is remarkable...

Sorry, but the DVD overall is very good.

Only one bad glitch: in the slideshow, the music stops for a millisecond in between photos. That's really ANNOYING.

That's all...

:-)

im so mad they didnt play taking back my soul. That second phrygian solo owns my life. Its so Loomis its not even funny.

indeed. apart from the loomis part. (that's he Gus G one?)

this DVD slays. i like the booklet/poster thing, and the logo is cool too.
some very funny interviews defo - when michael says 'steal my guitar' is pretty funny.

i like the sound. i don't watch many dvds but i got used to the sound quickly and probably prefer it to some crapper quality stuff. if you want live why not just see them (ok, not that easy i admit).

Awesome DVD.

I was pleasantly surprised by the AoR recording footage. I'll take a whole DVD of that, thank you very much! :notworthy

The best part, undoubtedly, is the part right after that (the 2002 Korean TV show footage). I thought I was going to fall out of my chair laughing when they showed Daniel's kit; freaking awesome.

WhoaWhat? There's no studio footage on my DVD :u-huh: Is it embedded into something else? The back cover only lists:

"UK Tour 2005 movie"
"TourTourTour (on the road movie)"
"Interviews & Behind the Scenes at the "My Apocalypse" Videoshoot"
"Gear Talk"

No mention of a studio report or anything :hypno:

cheap packaging , cheap 2nd show audio, th sound is low at least in one videoclip, why doesn´t angela speak like a girl in between songs ?

other than that is great !

Haha, dude I completely agree. I'm sure Daniel walked into the room and saw that thing and was like..."I suppose it will work, since we're only pretending to play".

It sounds live to me. I've seen them live, they sound that good. Perhaps shitty playing and bad production would have made you happier?

I mean, I honestly can't think of live music DVDs that are as killer as the ones Andy's produced. The Opeth DVD, and now Arch Enemy. God worships Andy. Of course, this is a totally unbiased opinion.

I have to agree with your opinion there. Seeing Arch Enemy last year totally blew me away cos the sound was so good, so it would have been a bit backwards if the DVD had worse quality audio than their live show. Not that it really could have been THAT bad, aside feom maybee a bit of room/ crowd noise in the guitar mics.
Great DVD.
