Arpeggio ideas?

Here's a few ideas:

1. Tap the arpeggios like Michael Romeo. See Of Sins and Shadows solo.
2. Add notes into the arpeggio to create 2 or even 3 notes on some strings. Good ones are the 9th (for a really somber sound) and the 7th.
3. Play one shape, hit the highest note, slide to the next note, then play a different shape down.
4. Use open strings.
5. Multi-finger tapping??
6. Tap an octave up.. here's what i mean

----------------------------------- T19p7T24
-----------------------------T20p8---------------
-----------------------T21p9---------------------
----------------T21p9---------------------
-T19p7T22p10----------------------
-------------------------------------------

hehe how about some string skipping

Check out Jason Becker's "Perpetual Burn" and his stuff with Cacophony. LOTS of good arpeggio ideas, they might spark some more for you, and change your mindset on how arpeggios can be used.

Throw in some scale runs mixed in with your arpeggios, a la Bach (since that's who all the neoclassical guys seem to model themselves after), and you can get some cool results.

Edit: Forgot to add: Serge, the idea of tapping up an octave is pretty cool, I'll have to try that.
