And bitches dont' even know 'bout my dick :(

I don't even think it has a useful purpose for bands. Anyone with half a hack's skill at webdesign can make a streaming mp3 player, and as for promotional use... one website is as good as another. Myspace is for tools and fools, so many bands sign up and all they get are friend requests and fanboi comments. It doesn't actually help you. You could make the argument that it's "networking". Does anyone seriously network via myspace? It's all a massive joke.

Ken, stop being a tool. Myspace is a fucken fantastic for bands to network with. I can't tell you how many bands i have found because of this. Sure, you can argue that bands can make their own website, but what good is a website going to do if no one can find it?

Other than that, i hate myspace and pretty much wish it would die.

and i dont hate myspace.. well, i hate when i get add requests from bands i dont care about or people who like pop music.. but i dont get that many so its all good

Lucky you... I couldn't count on a 40 foot clown abacus how many boy bands and hardcore/lamecore bands I've had to reject.

Anyway, besides anything semi-local (like other side of Aus), I've only found a few bands through myspace, like Dark Moor, who added me a while back.

Most bands I find through torrents and wikipedia (looking for similar bands etc).

If you could build something like myspace, but focussed on decent bands and music (metalspace? :p), and made emo a ISP-reportable offence followed by a decade incarceration, then you'd be on the right track.
