At The Gates style-riffing / Revalver

Hey guys,

I was trying to get the At the gates-sound recording some ideas...
What do you think of the overall sound?

Was a quick job, usual stuff, C4 on guitars, a bit of EQ on everything.
Pitch-shifted guitar/bass track (yeah, I'm lazy...)

on second thought... the bass sounds really annoying now...
gotta give it a 2nd try when me ears "refresh"

cymbals are too loud.

it sounds like there is no 'feel' to the drums... sounds very fake...

...should work on your drum programming...

I hear ya, was mixing on headphones which are very bassy...
will try again with monitors tomorrow.
as for the drums overall it's just some grooves thrown together, didn't bother...
why does it sound fake considering it's DFH?

He means the velocities/timings need adjusting, to make it sound more like a real drummer. Just because you're using DFH/DFHS/EZDrummer/whatever, doesn't mean it's gonna sound realistic straight out of the box.

lower the drums that would help a bit.

as for the guitar ATG vibe... its there alright.
