Atlas Shrugged

I still never read Who Moved My Cheese, boss gave it to everyone about a year and a half ago.

I've never read this Ayn Rand's books. Objectivism and individualism eh? I like my own interpretation of individualism, I'll see how hers works out for me.

GOD DAMN that's so ironic!

we need to come up with a name for unintentionally-funny posts

The Fountainhead was a good book, I'll say, because at least it had a story. I almost got sucked in, but the speech at the end of the book didn't click with me. That and the rape scene. I read some critical evaluation and it basically summarized my feelings, so I decided Objectivism sucked.

I read Atlas Shrugged a year later. Sort of. I allergically reacted to the BS halfway through and quit. What a mockery of philosophy and life in general.

No one makes 55-page speeches. Ever.

And what flat, unrealistic characters. No children, pets, illnesses, fun for fun's sake, nothing. Want a good philosophical novel done right? Read something by Camus. I don't agree, personally (I'm too optimistic), but what awesome writing!

Screw Ayn Rand and Objectivism and "I" and the individual. Yeah, I said it.
