Atrocious covers

Well this just goes to show that "it" is just a matter of taste...
I love the Nevermore version of Love Bites, they changes the tempo & the arraingement around & doesn't sound "Like" the Priest rendition.
And as for the Korn version of ABITW-1-3, I slaute them for taking a crack at the song. If you listen, these guys even "tried" to play a solo on there & they typically do a "St. Anger" and play none. Also, Davis who isn't known for his singing, tried to do just that. Also the track goes well with their usual theme, which is having something to do with kids in one way or another. Overall, I though it was okay, it didn't blow me away.

Every cover of The Rolling Stones "Paint it Black" I have heard has sucked! nobody can pull that song off Noway! you Must have that Sitar in there or it doesnt work every version I have heard of it has been pure sacriledge(Spellin) :loco:[/QUOTE
IM gonna have to disagree with you there. Glen Tipton does an awesome version on Baptism of Fire.
I have to agree with both parts. Nothing can top the original, but I do like Tipton's version because was quite different even in the lyrics. Rage version with the orchestra is also interesting.

Man I dont even think i want to hear that cover lol im a huge floyd fan and i seriously dont think anyone can do any of their songs good or just as good..
Objection! Voivod´s version of "Astronomy Domine" on "Nothingface" is - IMO - at least as good as the original version. (Actually, I like it even better, but maybe that´s just because I´m not a huge floyd fan.)

Many years ago, the first time my friend Darren was a DJ on radio, I use to o a couple of Fridays a month to put metal. There was no real metal show on radio here, and I always programmed stuff out of the usual.

Since I arrived early everythime I had to hear some of the crappy pop he put before, and one day he was all excited putting some band called the Cardigans. These muppets had the nerve to version 'Sabbath, Bloody Sabbath' and 'Iron Man' on two different albums. Needless to say I bash them to the ground on the air, which won me some "angry" call from listeners (which in time got some fire from yours truly).

Those versions of the almighty Sabbath classic tunes are on my top list of crimes against humanity.
