Attention my fellow whiskey drinkers

I was starting to worry I was pounding that bottle of Highland Park too often but...I dunno. What's too much?
If I could get away with it, I'd drink several glasses of expensive whisky every night but I don't want to die of liver failure.

I decided this weekend I'm going to throw down come pounds for a nice bottle. About 30 pounds max. What should I get? Keep in mind that if it costs you about $20, it'll cost me about 20 pounds.

I'm far from being an experienced whiskey drinker, but I'd recommend Ardbeg. It's peaty but not overly so, and I imagine it would be pretty a pretty good choice if you're not that experienced as some of the other lads here. Not sure how much it could cost though

Hard to say. Most of the straight whiskeys (bourbon) I drink are from the states. I have no idea how they're priced overseas. Most quality bourbons fall in the $30 - $50 price range, as most readily available bourbons aren't aged beyond 10 years.

Same price, but in pounds usually, when I've compared prices that I did know.

Jack at home: $22::Jack here: 20 Pounds, is one example.

Maybe it'd better to ask for a recommendation of a mid priced good whiskey?

SavoUring some Highland Park 12 year right now. Thanks for the reco, Mr. Kenneth.

so I have this great little secret of a very awesome blended scotch whiskey on the cheap. my wimmenz' parents drink it with ginger ale but i tried it a few times straight and its uber smooth ... its one of those things that should cost a lot more than it does.

John Barr Gold Labe ... 1.75L bottle is only $20 ... this is slumming it whiskey.

But I dare you whiskey lovers to try it and tell me its not better than a lot of expensive stuff
Real Made in Scotland stuff!

Saw some tonight while picking up some wine for the wife. I'd like to ascend the Highland scale before trying another brand but we'll see.

I tried to order something from their site last night just to see what would happen, but alas, you have to live in the UK to get it.
