It's a startlingly poignant show, especially through the 2nd and 3rd seasons. Compared to ER it has a much greater emotional impact, and coupled with the humour (which was sharp as a tack for quite some time) it was one of the best shows on TV for quite a while.

actually, season five ended amazingly. that ep where perry loses all his patients. WOW. the mandi moore stuff was fantastic, too. my five stages. *shrugs* season five has a lot of memorable eps for me.

I have the first 2 seasons on DVD and enjoyed them thoroughly. I'm currently working on watching Season 3 on that website I listed above. It bothers me that you guys think the show bombs around the 4th or 5th season. I'll see for myself.

I think Scrubs is an excellent show. The characters are very well written, and very dynamic. They mix more serious moments with drama really well, although that was mostly earlier on, but they still do now from time to time.
It's not that it goes downhill by 4 or 5. It just becomes sillier and less dramatic.

Those episodes are great, indeed. and yep, Guylove was worth all the mediocrity they can throw at us.
yeah, definitely. same thing happened with Spin City around season 3 and heavily in season 4. i refuse to watch the episode Bye Bye Love. it fucking rips me apart. but yeah, a bunch of similar writers/producers that seem to have fallen into a familiar slump.
