tv is all set up too but the chica is watching dvr'ed gossip girl right now. eerr...:ill:

fucker ... of all the things so far, its the Rotel CD player is the thing that's making my mouth water the most :loco:

and you bought that rig for Gossip Girl?

i know...its really bad. im already getting upgrade fever. it never ends. there is absolutely no need whatsoever either..i just want it. going to 9 0'clock on the dial is already ear blistering loud. for christ's sake, i live in a fucking condo...i cant even crank my shit that much!

i just wanna toy around and see what differences in sound and soundstage, warmth, etc different amps make. wish i could fucking rent shit.

don't know what to tell you ... I worked selling audio and I loved it but never bought into the "myth". Everything is so subjective and in the end it does not really matter.
In my opinion audiophiles are not music fans, they are electronics fans ... you are the former. Its a phase. It will pass :loco:
Hope your wallet comes out of it unharmed!

Agreed with Lurch. I won't disagree that more expensive (to a certain limit) speakers sound better than cheaper counterparts, but finding the "right" combination of amps, preamps, cd player, etc is an exercise in futility. You're better off getting a degee in electronic engineering and designing your own stuff because that's what it ultimately is about.
That said, Denon has some sweet Mahogony headphones that I need for around $1000.

Yeah, I also agree that "it will pass". Then you'll feel like a turd because of all the money you spent at the time....hindsight's always 20/20 though. I spent enough money on my MX-5 that I could've paid off my school loans. Then I practically gave it away. At the time though, yeah, it was really fun.

the good thing about hi-end equipment is that it usually holds its value really well, especially the more traditional things like amps and single cd players ... which will always be the standard.

investing in hi-end multi channel stuff is a dead though as that stuff is ever evolving.

i wont ever regret spending what i spent on what i have now. i know i wont be done until i have a seperate amp/pre-amp though...which wont be for a while...hopefully.

That said, spot-fucking-on about the music fan/electronic fan quote. Spot-fucking-on.

Thanks for putting me in my place father Aurel. :loco:
