yes, a lot of the gojira sound can be traced back directly to the first four morbid angel albums.

they are one of the rare death metal bands today that are good though. the influence of old bands is obvious but they give it a twist and make the sound their own.

Instead of just playing shit MA already played but at 50000 bmps like every other "extreme" death metal band that gets lauded as the next big thing.

Amen, brother. I don't really like Slayer that much after Seasons but damn this album is really good, imo.
