So, I'm working on my new band's logo and I've not been getting much constructive feedback from the guys so far. None of them know what they want to see but also don't seem too happy with what I've put together so far.

I've got two main ideas right now, the black and white one is my personal favourite but I'm looking for some ideas/feedback on both.

Just to let you know, we are heavy-pop-metal (a more credible Linkin Park with overtones of newer Soilwork/In Flames).

I said "no" to both. I like the basic ideas behind them, but each of it is too simple in a way. No1 looks more like an obscure logo of some ancient conspiracy, number 2 looks like a good idea processed through one photoshop-preset, you know what I mean?
If you would make the 2nd one look like the letters are kind of melting through something, towards the viewer, or stuff like that, it would be way more interesting I think. It´s some texture that´s missing, it´s too blank to be remembered by your future listeners I guess. Just my few cent, tending to No 2 !

I think they're both kind of cool but the first one makes me think that you're a hardcore band or a baseball team. I like the 3-D flashiness of the 2nd one a lot but perhaps with a cooler, thicker font and more colour. I like the melting through idea.
My pick would be #2.

Looking at them both with fresh eyes this morning I don't really think I like either of them!!

Anyone on here any good at designing logo's? We are in need of a logo that spells out the band name "Nya" and an emblem to go along with it (think the Jester+In Flames or the cross+Rammstein). We can offer credit in all of our CD/DVD booklets for as long as we are using the work, and a free copy of anything we produce.

Also, if anyone can point us in the direction of an artist who might be able to help that'd be great.

I voted for the first one because it's simple and pleasing. Easy to put on shirts and stickers.

The second one looks like somebody got too exciting with the photoshop effects. Where's the lens flare?
