Bands/Musicians you've met

If face to face interviews count, I've met Grutle Kjellson from Enslaved, Martin bass player of Decapitated, singer of Dismember...and maybe some others can't remember.

I've met tons of guys.

I met lots of nu-metal bands when I was a big nu-metalhead.

Devin Townsend I met at a concert in Vancouver, bought him a beer, talked abit and made him sign my Soilwork - FNF CD.

Gene Hoglan, I've met 3 times at concerts in Vancouver. I've got his autograph on so much shit now. The 3rd time I didn't bother asking him, I told him that I've met him enough times that I just want to drink beer with him... So we did.

Soilwork, I met the entire band at a show of theirs, sat with them at a booth and talked abit then signed my CD and left.

In Flames: Bjorn, he signed my CD in the middle of the crowd at a show once, we talked for about 10 mins then he left to preform.

CoB: Roope, I met 2.5 years ago just after he joined CoB. He signed my stuff, I bought him a beer and went on his way.

CoB: rest of the band, I met on Nov. 22 at the autograph signing and then again after the show. Signed all my shit, talked to Alexi about how Janne was feeling, he went in and told Janne someone was looking for him... Janne wouldn't come out so Alexi just took my flag in there and got it signed for me. Roope was being hassled by some punks who didn't know who he was so I told them and Roope was suprised I knew who STONE was....

Amon Amarth: Met them on Nov. 22 as well, bought the band a case of beer and drank it with them at their van for 2hrs and talked to Johan for a good 25 mins during Trivium's set. They signed my shit and left for Portland, great guys.

Who else....

Oh, I met the signer for Nevermore (Can't remember his name) and I told him I didn't like Enemies of Reality too much. He said that everyone he's been meeting on the tour has been saying that.... OOPS!

That's all I can remember right now.

Oh, and the bass player for The Project Hate is on my MSN Messenger list. We talk when ever he comes on (But that's not too often).

My best friend has someone from Fear Factory (I'm not into them so I don't know his name) on his list and they are always talking about music production and trading tips. My friend is an amateur producer.

That's all I can remember right now.

You met Warrell Dane (Nevermore vocalist).
One night, I got extremely intoxicated with Anal Blast, The Chasm, and Necrobutcher from Mayhem even stopped by the party. I never smoked that much weed AND drank that much Hieneken in my life.:kickass:

I have met a lot of bands, but the only person I care to mention right now is Horgh. It was at the concert with Soilwork and Dark Tranquillity, and of course Hypocrisy. I got him to sign Blizzard Beasts and Sons Of Northern Darkness. His signature is quite fun. I asked him if he still talked to the guys in Immortal, and he said yes. I also got a picture with him. That is about it there. He was nice.

I've met/spoken with a bunch over the years. Won't bother to list all of them, I'll just narrow it down to the ones who were exceptionally nice and appreciative of the fans who went to see them.

Flo Monier (Cryptopsy)- Met him a couple times. Was parked next to me at one show, tossed me a handshake and beer out of the van and we bullshitted for a while before the set. Mike DiSalvo was always cool too.
Vader - Extra-enternaining when they're drunk. Very nice guys though. Got my old De Profundis shirt signed by Doc (R.I.P.)
Ihriel and her brother (Peccatum) - Very sweet girl, awesome guy. They hung around forever talking with the fans who stayed late after the show, signed anything and everything to those who asked, very, very friendly. Isahn (and Samoth, Emperor played the same show) were complete dicks. It took about two minutes for people to just stop appoaching them, they obviously didn't want we lesser beings near them.
Monstrosity - Always friendly, every time.
Xy (Samael) - Talked and joked for a while. Good guy. Just had to have him sign my Xytras disc while he was there too.
Will and Roger (Mortician) - I know the general feeling towards this band as well as what's going on with Will in Poland; To each their own. But Will in particular was always a friendly/down to earth guy when any fans approached him. The fans farther from him were a good laugh, not sure they wanted to meet Mortician, thinking they're insane or something, but they're just two regular guys. Nothing "weird", no egos.
Borknagar - Very friendly even with a strong language barrier. They took the time and effort to talk with us for a while (with a bit of translation help). That was pre-Vintersorg, haven't met him. Nick Barker approached me twice, once with Borknagar and once with Dimmu, each time to ask "Where's the nearest liquor store?". Interesting fellow.

The Asshole Awards go to Isahn and Samoth. A lot of people drove several hours and wanted a chance to meet their favorite band and left a bit pissed/dissapointed as Emperor is too good for their lowly fans. Samoth quickly made his way out the back door and locked himself in the van before the fans could get outside, Isahn was really fuckin rude as he quickly made his way through the group. Every time someone asked him to sign something he'd give a big sigh and some "fuck you, lesser person, don't bother me" body language. A lot of folks who were excited to see them ended up equally excited to see them go. They've mastered the art of making their fans feel completely unappreciated. If I were an Emperor fan I'd feel ripped off.

Probably forgetting a ton of cool guys, maybe I'll /edit if I think of some.

Thank you! :D

I didn't feel like grabbing one of my Nevermore CD's and checking.

Chatted with Erik Rutan, Hellhammer, Maniac, Max of Krisiun, Luc and Steve of Gorguts, and have had email exchanges with ex-Gorguts drummer Patrick Robert.

Wanted to add that Erik Rutan was a really nice guy. Took the time to take interest in the music I was writing. Hellhammer and Maniac were ok. Got a weird vibe from those guys. Max of Krisiun was nice. Very talkative. I had to stop the conversation cause I had to go home. Luc and Steve were great guys. Had a nice chat with Luc especially, about his schooling and the concept behind Obscura. Still send Patrick some emails from time to time, to see how he's doing.

I've met Peter T from Hypocrisy , and the rest of the guys along with Dark Tranquility. I shot the Breeze with Anders Bjorler (The Haunted/ At The Gates..\m/) in a bar once after a show, Had "A Perfect Murder" Stay at my house on thier way to Boise...haha, Few other bands, but most notable talked WWII memorabilla with Peter (guitars vox) from Vader, then he had to go 'cause his back was hurting...

Let's see...I've met the following people from these bands:

Kiss - Gene Simmons (who was giving me weird looks, probably because of my Ace Frehley t-shirt), Paul Stanley, Bruce Kulick, Eric Singer
Judas Priest - K. K. Downing, Ian Hill, Scott Travis (would have met Glenn Tipton but he had some blonde on his lap and I didn't want to cockblock him, ya know? :D Rob Halford was nowhere to be found, so I'm guessing he was doing interviews for local press...oh well.)
Ozzy's band - Jake E. Lee
Dio - Jimmy Bain, Craig Goldy
Anthrax - Scott Ian, John Bush
Morbid Angel - Trey, Dave and Pete
Danzig - Glenn Danzig (yes, he really is as short as you've heard)
System of a Down - John Dolmayan
Buckethead - Buckethead, without the costume - he's a cool guy, too. We were talking about the Black Sabbath performance in Devore, CA at the Ozzfest from the month prior.
Slayer - Tom, Kerry, Jeff, Dave and Paul
Grip Inc. - Dave and Waldemar (who was busy trying to hit on my friend's ex-girlfriend and, last I heard from her, he's still sending her letters)

So far just Peter Tagtgren of Hypocrisy and sort of "Corpsegrinder" (forget his real name) of Cannibal Corpse because I'm usually too scared to go up to them.

Anyway, Peter was nice and everything, until my boyfriend showed him his tatoo of The Abyss's 'The Other Side' on his arm and I think Peter thought he was a dumb fanboy that got it just because he likes the band. It's not why he got it, but oh well--- Peter lost interest in us after that. I still think he's great though.

oh god lets see if I can remember everyone who ive met, im sure I will forget a few. I am not going to mention anyone who ive only met via-in store signing or anything.

I am very good friends with everyone from Soilwork. I am also friends with the guys in Dark Tranquillity, In Flames & Evergrey. Now as far as who ive "met" goes...

Recently got to know the guys from Darkane very well when they were here with Soilwork. I would have to consider klas (guitarist) a friend as well.

As I said I am friends with Evergrey. In 2003 I took a greyhound up from Philly to NYC to see them play (opening for iced earth i think), and I rode back home to Philly (which was the next stop on the tour) on their tour bus they were sharing the bus with Children Of Bodom (a band who's music I jsut cant stand) and I got to know all those guys pretty well. Alexi from COB was talking to me all night long and gave me a free long sleeve tour shirt =/

Ive met everyone in Arch Enemy, and hung out with all of them (except for angela... oh no! *please note the sarcasm*)

I saw the original lineup of Testament play this past summer and I hung out in their dressing room with them for a couple hours after the show. Really nice guys.

When Evergrey was opening for Iced Earth I got to knwo those guys as well. We all went to this metal bar in manhattan (i tihnk it was called "the bellvue" but im not 100% sure) which was a lot of fun... i got to make fun of ripper owens right to his face without him even realizing it... i can die happy now.

Hung out on Nevermore's tour bus for a while.

Ive met Peter and the rest of Hypocrisy on several occasions... once he molested my friends younger brother and then had to be carried onto the tour bus by his tour manager and a tech because they had to hit te road and he wouldnt stop talking to us.

I got to hang out with Hammerfall for a little bit this past summer, and Edguy as well.

I ran into Dan Lilker at that Testament show over the summer.. hes a friendly... tall fellow.

Ive also met lots of crappy bands (who were opening up for bands I actually like) like Chimeria, Killswitch, etc... (most of them were actually pretty cool guys, even if their music sucks).

I know ive met more people then that I just cant think of them right now. oh well. that'll do.
