Dude check out Skyfire. Not sure if they were named yet did not read all of post, but they are a killer band. They are not the same as Bodom but if you love CoB you will love Skyfire.

Omnium Gatherum is from Finland (....that's what I heard). But they sure have the Gothenburg sound.

Yes Kalmah and Eternal Tears of Sorrow are melodic metal bands I wouldn't say they are like Cildren of bodom. Also I do not understand why people think kalmah was an extension of EToS, Antti Kokko and Pasi Hiltula were in Kalmah before the joined EToS so lets get the story straight people. What about sinergy, they are abit like CoB (Alexi and Roope Latvalas other band) Alexi and Roope tear shit up so bad in that band (Sinergy is power metal, I guess you would catagorize it as, with a femal vocalist, its good shit).
