What's up with all the nicknames that bands have for producers and engineers in their thank-you lists? When I meet someone I don't typically immediately give them a nickname, but it would seem like nearly every band thanks producers/engineers as First Name "nickname" Last Name (i.e., Andy "Undie" Sneap by Megadeth). I don't quite get it - is the producer in on the gag all along, or do they just sort of add it behind their back and hope they play along?

I'm sure some of you have some shining examples....bust 'em out!

It is like a requirement for Finnish metal albums. Especially those produced or mixed by Mikko Karmila. He's probably the Man of Thousand Nicknames
