Bands that have become "known" in the last few years

With my college studies I haven't been able to keep up with the scene as much as I'd like to, specifically I haven't been able to post here and get great recommendations. What bands new or old have come up since say 2007 or 2008 here on UM that weren't known or appreciated before that?

well, it's a question of known to who--what counts as success. Do they have to have like, Sonata Arctica fame, fame such that even people who hate their whole genre still know who they are and know they're a big deal?

Were Catamenia and In Flames "known" prior to their more commercial sound change? was Suidakra "known" back in the days of Lays From Afar? I'd like to think so.

Well I've never heard of any of the ones you listed, but the ones I listed are actually talked about in the underground now if you pay attention to anything but ultra-obscure black/folk metal
