I like that list. Solid choices.twilightsrobe said:
Windir, like a few other bands, I like out of obligation, as they were one of the first metal bands I liked. I will certainly check out asunder. I left out a couple more bands that I enjoy, like paatos for instance, I'm just a fan of Reine Fiske's style and technicality.NineFeetUnderground said:extremely impressive list. not a single flaw. (ill let the windir slide)
if you like weakling, and the gault...check out "asunder". same guys, super emotive and powerful. funeral doom like thergothon or evoken...just more melody.

what I meant by technicality is that he is so tight in every aspect of the guitar. Every song he plays is so sure and solid. It's a different type of technicality. I guess I used the wrong word. I dunno, he just speaks through his guitar sometimes.NineFeetUnderground said:fiske is easily my favorite guitarist, so i agree 100% however i wouldnt say his magic is in the technicality, for he really isnt that technical when it comes down to it. but he does have an unmatched feel and sound to his playing style. every lick, and bend and vibrato shake is perfect and in place. If a beautiful but almost sadness like emotion in the purest sense could be attributed to a guitarist, i would say its him. undeniable talent and vibe on everything he touches. their cover of "quiet drops" proves this...i didnt think that piece of music could get any more melancholy and dark...but reine and the gane dropped it about 5 notches even lower. fantastic album.
