BBE Sonic Maximizer

Hi andy.

I was wondering if you have any experience with recording Pod Pro through the direct out (with cab em etc). And if you have, have you used the Sonic Maximizer anything? I've heard that it really improve the Pods defenition in the sound, that's what I need since everything I record (with dist) sound a bit blurry.

Have you used the Sonic Maximizer on anything beside that?

I'm thinking of buying one for my rack and I thought I might be able to use it for my home studio too.

In my experience, those things are noisy and harsh. However, I've never needed to try it with a POD. Perhaps it would help. If you really want to get an enhancer, I'd recomment the Aphex Aural Exciter. I know a couple dudes in a melodic death metal band that swore by them in their guitar rigs.

Yes, but knowing said dudes and gear very well, they pretty much only used the big bottom to boost the low end on their rigs....but either way, those things are handy. pretty much everyone in that band swore/swears by aural exciters.
