Back in Flushing, NY for good!
Anybody ever heard this band?

I heard about them forming it up last year or whatever, forgot about it, and then I said hey! I wonder if their CD is out....

and there it was in Tower Records. WOW! I love it...

maybe they can play PP 8? I think it's a side project thing, so it would be "special" if they played...

I picked up the CD at Progpower and honestly it's amazing. It has Uli Hirsh and is fronted by a female singer and it's heavy yet kinda proggy. Very good CD well worth buying.

I had read Ken Golden's review on his site, so I picked it up on the second day when CDInsane had their discount. One of the best CDs I bought at the show.

For those of you who prefer their female vocals to sound more like Doro rather than Tarja, this is definitely the CD for you.

It's by Uli Kusch (drums) and Axel Mackenrott (keyboards) from Masterplan and Steinar Krokmo (bass) from Pagans Mind. The other members of the band are Magali Luyten (vocals) and Jørn Viggo Lofstad (guitar).

I think the CD shows pretty much what an important part of Masterplan Uli & Axel are! :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy

I'm not a fan of this one. I liked maybe 1 or 2 songs at most and found the rest to be very average.
I liked it a little better than that, but I don't find it to be a top 20 contender. Solid stuff though overall. The female singer reminds me a lot of Doro.

Got it recently. The singer has a cool voice.

If you like her, you might like Mastermind's "Angels Of The Apocalypse."

Hmmm....I was not very interested, but I love Mastermind. Have to give it a try.
Is your comparison based only on the singer?

If you dig that sound, you should check out Benedictum. I know Yippee posted something about them recently. Listening to the album, most of the time, you wouldn't think it's a female singer.

Mostly. The music isn't very similar. If you like Mastermind, then you'll like the music, but it's different with the female vocals. I think there are track samples on their website.
