TS, WASP and Quiet Riot are hair metal bands? ... you see how ugly those guys were and how heavier the bands music were/are compared to bands like Poison, BJ, Ratt etc... anyways my vote would go to Metallica up to MOP if not then overall would be iron maiden because all their albums were flawless and classic in the 80's... they had so many in the 80's also compared to other bands...

My vote is for Iron Maiden. If we're talking about the decade of the 80s and who contributed the most to the excellence of the metal scene, Maiden is it. So many great albums in a row. Savatage and Queensryche are up there too, along with Metallica on the strength of the first 3.

Besides, it´s impossible deciding. I could say best 80´s albums (Queensryche: "Operation: Mindcrime", Riot "Thundersteel", Crimson GLory "Trascendence", Savatage "Gutter ballet" Candlemass "Nightfall") but bands... too much for me!

Well actually "Pyromania" is good (except one horrible song). Afterwards the band experimented the "Metallica effect" and became what it's today anything but NWOBHM.
I won't go as far as destroy it, I simply ignore it.
NP: Bloden Wedd - 'Liberty'
I consider Def Leppard´s "On through the night" and specially "High and dry" underrated albums. Both are amazing in my opinion. "Pyromania" is their highest point and then they changed a lot and forgot their roots but I still think "Hysteria" is very good, not metal at all but with fantastic songs like "Armageddon", "Animal", "Rocket" or "Run riot".
