It's impossible, I mean look, all of them put forward a good case!

In The Mist She Was Standing/Twilight Is My Robe/Apostles In Triumph
The Night And Silent Water/Black Rose Immortal/To Bid You Farewell
April Ethereal/When/Demon Of The Fall
The Moor/Face Of Melinda/Serenity Painted Death
The Leper Affinity/Bleak/Harvest
Deliverance/Masters Apprentice/A Fair Judgment
Windowpane/In My Time Of Need/Hope Leaves
Ghost Of Perdition/Reverie/Harlequin Forest/The Grand Conjuration
Heir Apparent/The Locus Eater/Hessian Peel

+many more!

It's impossible...

P.s. I voted Blackwater Park :D

For me, GR is the best.
It has variety and an awesome atmosphere.
I'd say BWP is a somewhat overrated album, but that is probably because i don't like either Dirge for november or The funeral portrait that much.

it's impossible for me to choose but i choose morningrice

mmm morning-rice..

The Still Life fans are the hardcore ones, who pay attention to forum and such.

I voted for Watershed, as it's my favourite.

btw, Opeth's gettin famous.

the Watershed fans are gay and don't care about the forums.

I'm an exception. but I'm still very much gay for loving watershed :>

which means: only the hardcore fans will vote on this poll.

It's like on the beloved Foo Fighters postboard: "Everlong" wins any poll whatever it's about, and if it's not in the poll, then "Hey, Johnny Park" is winning. (with like 90% of the votes). But when such polls are made outside of the forum, like on the utterly gay MTV forum, Everlong came in 6th place, and HJP wasn't even in the top 10.
Now this is an Opeth forum, and Foo Fighters is a gay pop-rock band (let's say so just for the sake of it).
I think Damnation or Watershed would win if the question was asked to random people, as shitloads of people have only heard those albums.
so are we settlin' the debate? - Probably, yes, since we are the hardcore Opeth-listeners! :kickass:

gosh. I love Foo Fighters.. and Opeth.. Foopeth...

BWP haz The Lepper Affinity and Bleak, and... Blackwater Park.
Beats everything on Still Life.

+520

i always thought bwp kills sl and i dont think its ever gonna change
those three songs > all in sl except for the moor
IMO!!!!!

edit: serenity painted death is good too

I may be the only Opeth fan to say this (and I'm sure I may seem like a complete heretic for saying this), but I think Blackwater Park is overated. I dunno...the songs are okay but all in all, it just doesn't do much for me. My favorite is Still Life followed very closely by Ghost Reveries followed very closely by....either Damnation or Watershed.

Edit: Oh wait, Zantera said it. So I don't feel so alone. :) I don't know why BP doesn't do it for me, especially since I usually love everything Steven Wilson does. *shrug* But the atmosphere on either Still Life or Ghost Reveries (as different as they are) are just perfection.

For me, no release embodies everything that Opeth holds dear more than Ghost Reveries. It is far and away my favorite album. I guess Deliverance would be a distant second. After that, it depends on my mood.
