Best debut album ?

unknown pleasures by joy division

i dont like metal debuts as much as that which follows them i think

metal bands really get in their stride between 7-11 years in existence

Opeth-Orchid
Tool-Opiate (it's an E.P. but still a damn fine debut)
Aerosmith-Aerosmith (still one of my favorite rock albums of all time!)
Black Sabbath
Led Zeppelin I
Machine Head-Burn My Eyes
Both Dio and Ozzy's debut solo albums, maybe they don't count though since they were both in bands previously!

Pearl Jam - Ten
Black Sabbath - s/t
King Crimson - In the Court of...
Carcass - Reek of Putrefaction
Tool - Opiate
Napalm Death - Scum
Metallica - Kill 'em All
30 Seconds to Mars - s/t (only decent new group to surface in the past 5 years)
Machinehead - Burn My Eyes

That's all I can think of right now...

Ah yes, and Dissection - Somberlain, thank you Somberlain. :)

Soilwork-steelbath suicide
Ominous-The spectral manifest
Anata-The infernal depth of hatred
Machine head-Burn my eyes
Dark tranquility-Skydancer
Metallica-Kill'em all

Norther - "Dreams Of Endless War"
Illnath - "Angelic Voices Calling" (A MCD, but hell...)
Naglfar - "Vittra"
Mörk Gryning - "Tusinn År Har Gåt"
Old Man´s Child - "In The Shades Of Life"

+ many more...
