On most debut CDs, the band hasn't quite pulled it together yet, but ocassionally a debut rocks. Which ones are the best (not meaning, necessarily, the best album by that particular band)?

I think Guns N' Roses "Appetite for destruction" is clearly the best debut LP EVER made!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Besides that I would say Machine Head's "Burn my eyes" (also a superb record, although I don't listen that much to it anymore), The 3rd and the Mortal's "Tears laid in earth" (didn't they release an EP first or was it afterwards? GN'R also released an EP first), Limbonic Art's "Moon in the Scorpio", Thorns "S/T", Bootys's Rubberband's "Stretchin' out in" ("Aah...the name is Bootsy,k baby" is the best though - Superb!!), Theatre of Tragedy's "S/T" and then I don't really know. Maybe Funkadelic's "S/T", Ulver's "Begtatt", Dark Funeral's "Secrets of the black arts" (if the first counts as an EP). I don't know if Mayhem's "De mysteriis..." count as their debut LP. It kind of depends on "Deathcrush" being regarded as an EP or not. I don't know if Nancy Sinatra & Lee Hazlewood's "Nancy & Lee" record count. They had both released records before, but this was the first of two LP's they recorded together. Maybe Sade's "Diamond life", although I think "Promise" is a little bit better. Maybe Opeth's "Orchid". It's a good record, but I think it's clearly their weakest!

Dude, In Flames' debut was called 'Lunar STRAIN'. Death's debut was called 'Scream Bloody Gore'.
