I don't think Varg looked violent either back in his days of being free.
Scary enough I think Varg used to look attractive... even if he would have probably tried to kill me if I ever flirted with him...
That is why he is even more freaky. He looked great, but had so much internal ugliness... he is truly a messed up person in my opinion.

I've read the first chapters; what can be found at the internet. He's incredibly smart, he knows alot of things, so he deserve credit for that, but to me he seems (mark: 'to me', and 'seems') totaly crazy. I won't judge him, or anything, since I don't know him (on a personal basis), but I think he does indeed deserve to be where he is now.

Someones once showed me a photo of Varg in a book, it was taken when he was already in prison, with one remark: "Hey, that's you!"
And yeah, damn, that guy looked like me with longer hair... even tho it's stupid to say that, it's something I'd feel ashamed about, being compared to him, and may it just be in the appearance

Varg are in a prison right beside my school...
and I have seen him at a shop right beside... kinda weird to see someone who is a prisoner, go with two guards in a shop...
and btw. he dont have much hair left now.. he is now a skinhead...

I've also read only the first chapters of Vargsmål, i found the whole book in the net but i guess it loses a lot on meaning in english. I agree with Fjelltussa, Varg is a really smart man, i repect his views even if i may don't agree with all his statements.
I can't judge the church burnings 'cause i believe he had a valid reasoning to explain it but on the other hand, killing Euronymous was stupid, so he got what he deserved.

maybe someday i'll search for the book online..in norwegian since i can understand (written) quite well...
well then you haven't seen his picture with the knives where there's only one eye seen through the hair....
arms crossed, in one hand a large knife in the other a spiked "american fist" attached to another knife....that looked quite violent to me!!!
and astarte: I've read some of his stuff too, and hey, nobody has any possible reasoning, but madness, to burn something built up 900 years ago....not even for all the bad things christians did in the past....it's mostly putting in the same place but with the essence of revenge quite gone to far due to the term of time...
taking revenge after a thousand years is quite exaggerating terms....

FatherVic, i'm not defending his actions in any way, i only meant that i understand why he did it.
I don't always believe that the aim justify the means (i don't know how it's written in english "el fin justifica los medios" ) but i can understand, for example, why our native folks, the mapuches, burnt down and destroyed the City of Santiago after it was built back in 1541 and why they keep attacking those who try to steal the little land they own, after centuries.
Vikernes believes he had to avenge the rape of his race's land and that's respectable, from my point of view at least.

OK, a lot of people are saying "I don't know how it's in English," so I'll work on aleviating that problem.
It's usually said "The ends justify the means." But "the aim" would work just as well.
Actually I was talking about that same pic, it's quite a contrast because of the violent looking knives but his faces is saying "I'm a good boy".
Yeah but how about taking revenge after 500 years??? I'm planning on slaughtering a few spaniards for what they did to my people some time ago

I also understand why he burt that church, and I do, in fact, respect those reasons, more or less. Still I would never have done the same thing (even if I had had the courage to do it, 'cause it must take some...), because it would have made me no better than the christians. But then, he's not the only nor. Blackmetaller who has burt a church... There's been some eager boys with some matches about, here.... In a way, though, I find it worse to take down tombstones. They cannot even know if the ones beneath were christians! They had no reason to do it!
