well, black metal isn't necessarily about the sounds. the vocalist of gorgoroth explained in an interview how blackmetal is about the message, not necessarily the sound.

if this is true, perhaps mike is a traditionalist?







also I noticed that a lot of people keep saying under the weeping moon is the worst track on orchid, but honestly, that song gave me schills cause the first time I heard it it was pitch black in a room and i was using high quality headphones. I felt like I was in the middle of a forest with animals and shit all around me, it was great!

someone also mentioned benighted being a bad song from still life, that I'll give you a virtual cookie if you can pull it off perfectly and show me

This has always been very difficult for me. I can't seem to pick firmly of these 3; Morningrise, My Arms your Hearse and Still Life. I don't even know what criteria to use any more. Opeth is the only band I have this dilemma with.
