Hi, all in the title : what's the best/easiest option out there now to edit pitch of bass lines ? Do you have any good experience on this ? I had to make a compromise with the bass I used for my recording, and it's kinda detuned on notes played with high frets.

So Melodyne seems the go to choice. Ermz, any reason for saying Studio One instead of Melodyne standalone since Studio One pitch editing IS Melodyne itself ? Are you talking about its UI in the DAW ?

I believe Celemony is in talks with other DAWs as well.

@AllanD : IIRC and please correct me if I'm wrong, ARA is more or less a new type of plugin which, contrary to VST/AU/RTAS which only receive the audio information that is being "played", interact with the source in a more global way and allows for more complex processes, such as pitch shifting/editing which needs to "scan" whole regions in draw modes for example. http://www.celemony.com/cms/index.php?id=ara#top EDIT : BTW, it seems wonderful, I just watched the video and I'm stoked, it's how it should be : double clic, edit, bam.

I find the Standalone Melodyne UI and transport to be extremely awkward. For that reason alone I'm considering buying Studio One Professional.

I see, and for what I got, the price is almost the same, if you consider the full Editor version of Melodyne.

BTW, any interest in Editor or Assistant over the Essential version ? I read the difference over Essential is :
- more options of editing (volume/vibrato/formant) + midi export etc for Assitant
- Same + DNA for Editor

But is this worth it, do you find any of these options useful ?

you'll be off perfectly fine tuning monophonic instruments like the bass guitar with melodyne essential : )
