The other day I was jumping from video to video in my boredom until I heard this song:

I am guy that usually dont get suprised, excited, interested in most of the music nowadays, especially metal but this one caught me off guard. I know that the last albuns of this band goes towards progressive something... still wasnt expecting such a great and somehow different song from this guys.

Anyway, share some song that you think that it´s great in it´s own way. This thread could be useful to find some good stuff.

Bumblefoot's new album has some good tunes on it...probably not metal enough for this forum though.

Seems like I abondoned this Thread. Had a really shitty week with problems.

Enslaved has been on a roll lately, this new album is brilliant but so have been the last 3 they've put out.

To me, some of the most amazing songs I've heard in a long time:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4RRshh1ieLU

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARCRORuhER8

I heard the previous leprous album long ago and while they are not like other million bands, nothing was outstanding in my opinion but I might check this one.

Vallenfyre it´s not my kind of music. So cant comment much.

I didnt heard yet the Architects album but the main riff it´s indeed cool.

I heard Dead End Kings also long ago and my thought was that was a weak album with few songs standing out. Well, weak in comparison to Night Is the New Day that was an outstanding album. But now I am not sure if it was Dead End Kings or Dethroned & Uncrowned the last album that I heard from them. Have to check both.

Have to hear this one.

+1 for Katatonia - Lethean (and all of DEK)

Not much is doing it for me lately. Nothing newish anyways.

You are like me, hard to be interested in new things. I think becoming old doenst help also!lol

Certainly more of the easy listening radio friendly metal but I've been really into these two bands

Starset - the whole album concept is great

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TkokQjF71Q

Nothing more - fantastic vocals and song writing

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yo5fE-Zl-V4

I didnt knew any of those bands. Have to check it better.

No offense dude, but are you kidding? I like a lot of bands in this style, but this is soooo generic it totally feels like a joke.

Honestly dude, yeah..

I've listened to a lot of "core" stuff and I saw them live up here in a tiny venue and besides stuff like the last As I Lay Dying and new I killed the prom queen, for me its worlds apart from loads of other stuff...

I dunno... I hear it...

If you like them, check out False Light by Unsacred. Got some attention from Vice when it came out like the day before Christmas last year and not much else, but holy shit, might be my album of the year for late 2014/2015. Every riff kills.

Metal:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0Q0fcAT36s

-really good production, killer song

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVLOa592jgk

-not really metal, but I think the production is pretty slamming even though the song is kind of generic

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNYfM0ovwug

-again not really metal, but a really nice melody

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmoMjMl_Jxw

-love this song recently, idk why, just a lot of power in the riffs I guess and some decent melodies/lyrics. Tremonti's just a good song writer.

Not metal:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJ3jl794mGs

-people may give me shit for this band but it's catchy as fuck, a lot better than other rise bands IMO

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7O-FGSkUJk

-not a big fan of the mix, but I don't mind the song. Typical breaking benjamin.

I've been really liking Nothing More lately, way better than most of the crap I hear on Sirius XM when I drive haha.

I actually saw Starset live when they opened for the Devil You Know (Howard Jones' new band) and they were really good, actually. The theatricals were kind of over the top but they are definitely unique.

I know I keep posting these gusy here, but they deserve it. Amazing song.

Nothing new for me. 'Irradiant' by Scarve is by far the biggest metal storm I got in my face. I'm not talking about of the technical performance (although it's outstanding) but about the intelligence and the originality of their music and their respective personality. So +1 for the buddies :)
