Hear the cry of War
Louder than before
With his sword in hand
to control the land
Crushing metal strikes
on this frightening night
Fall onto your knees
For the Phantom Lord

Fall to your knees
and bow to the Phantom Lord

FUCKING GOD DAMN

Definitely Metallica. They were selling well enough playing thrash with ...And Justice for All. Then they got more populist to sell more records with the black album, and after that strayed even further from their original sound.

I would say Hatebreed aren't sellouts at all. They never really changed their sound much, and never changed their genre. They started as a metalcore band, and are still a metalcore band. It's just that for some reason metalcore has become popular. It's almost as if metalcore is the new nu-metal, though metalcore is not quite as poplar as nu-metal was at its peak.

Was the term 'metalcore' even around in '97?

Metalcore was a record label in the 80s, so yeah, the term was around, but it had a different connotation.

In fact, it was. I hate to admit it, but metalcore was actually my favorite genre 97 - 2000; I used to love bands such as Earth Crisis, Bloodlet, One King Down, Snapcase, Battery, Integrity, Vision of Disorder, etc.

Meh...I still like some metalcore - though not really Hatebreed. I liked 'Satisfaction...' but I got 'Perseverence' a year or two ago, listened to it once and now it sits, collecting dust...

Burzum is sold fucking everywhere, and it's always overpriced.

But I want to know, do people actually think he fucking sold out? That his ambient albums were meant to draw in a bigger, dumber crowd? Because fuck, that's moronic.

That's not my opinion at all. In fact, I was just being a dick (like always). Burzum has become commercialized, though Varg Vikerness cannot be blamed for this, at least directly. Thanks to his actions and (somewhat) interesting biography, Burzum has reached a level of popularity that is practically impossible for his style of music. So, in all honesty, no Burzum did not sell out.

Explaining to oblivious idiots isn't necessary
