i have a cousin who marries a swedish man. she is chinese by the way. now their baby boy is 11 months old and has blond hair i thought the kid would have black or brown hair. can someone explain why chinese-scandinavian kid usually have blond hair instead of dark hair? i've also seen a chinese-danish kid has blond hair. however chinese-british or chinese-swiss children all have dark hair.

Because in a few cases, the male gene is the dominant one. This is not the same for Skin colour as the black gene is 99% dominant.

If I remember correctly from my biology class, the dominant gene is not automatically passed on. There are 4 genes to pass on, two from the mother (most likely both for black hair) and 2 from the father (most likely both for blond hair) out of which 2 will be passed on to the kid. If one of the black genes is passed on to the kid he will have light brown to dark hair but if both blond genes are passed on he will be blond.
The thing is that the dominant gene for the phenotype doesnt have an advantage for being passed on to the kid
